How much does it cost to participate in the NJ Turnpike Five K?

A $40 donation is required to participate in the event. However,  pre-event mailing option is available for $50 and includes your event t-shirt and race bib. You will receive your package prior to event day.

What do I receive with my race registration?

  • Ability to run/walk the iconic New Jersey Turnpike at the Exit 15X Helix in Secaucus
  • Exclusive NJ Turnpike Five K running bib
  • Exclusive NJ Turnpike Five K event t-shirt
  • Exclusive NJ Turnpike Five K finisher medal

Is there a limit on the number of participants for the NJ Turnpike Five K?

There is no limit on number of participants.

Are there awards for the top finishers of the NJ Turnpike Five K?

Since the NJ Turnpike Five is a timed event, there will be Top 3 finisher medals for both male and female. However, every participant will still receive a finisher medal.

What time does registration open and when does the race start?

6:00 a.m. – Check-in Opens (Pick up race packet)

8:00 a.m. – NJ Turnpike Five Race Starts (5K run/walk)

Can I bring a bag with me?

Yes, you can bring bags with you to the event and during the race. We will offer a designated bag drop area for any particiapant who doesn’t want to bring a bag with them during the race.

Will the NJ Turnpike Five K still take place if it rains?

Yes, the event is rain or shine.

Does the Turnpike close for the event?

The New Jersey Turnpike Helix at 15X will shut down at 7:00 a.m. There will be no cars on or around the course during event time.

If I register to participate and can’t make it, can I receive a refund?

Refunds will not be given. Your registration fee and any additional funds will be treated as a donation to Special Olympics New Jersey. Upon registering you will receive a receipt. Your donation is tax deductible.

Can I bring a stroller?

Yes, strollers are permitted. Parent or Guardian must complete a waiver for the child in the stroller. Waivers are located at the check-in stations.
